Welcome to the course website for International Environmental Law LAWS725, AUT School of Law, Semester 2 July 2017.
This website will be the primary source for materials used in the course. For some of the restricted materials, including published academic papers, you may need a ‘live’ AUT Blackboard/Talis connection as well.
The course content has been divided into 11 modules, with the idea that we cover, on average, one module per week.
If you are visiting this website prior to the first class scheduled for 21 July 2017, I encourage you to have a look over the materials for the various topics that we will be covering in class. There is a reasonable volume of material to read, and you will get most out of the paper if you have looked over the content in advance.
I also encourage you to visit the Assessment page, and have a think about your topic for the 60% written assignment. As noted on that page, you should feel free to select a topic and communicate with me about that before the beginning of the course. Written assignments are due by 12:00pm 2 October 2017.
Throughout the course (and beyond, if you want) feel free to join me in tweeting or retweeting material relevant to the course using the #autiel hashtag.
